You woke up to Baby's whining. The little dog was sitting at the foot of your bed, watching you. You frowned slightly, wondering how much of last night had been a dream.

You were still wearing the dress you had gone out in, though you had apparently taken time to undo your hairdo. Deciding that fresh clothes were more important than weird dreams, you stumbled to your feet.

Probably just came in and passed out. I'll have to remember not to eat raspberry sherbet before bed again. That was one messed up dream.

You took a quick shower and dressed before heading towards the living room. Dave hadn't come to visit you this morning, so he had to be in his cage. Risa was probably standing guard outside of it and keeping him trapped.

You froze when you heard the sound of cooking coming from the kitchen. Your parent's weren't supposed to come home for a few more days, and no one else had a key to your house. Shit.

You quickly grabbed a baseball bat before stealthily approaching the kitchen. You froze in the doorway, shocked at the sight.

The guy from your dream last night was currently flipping pancakes. Luckily, he was dressed in some of your dad's old clothes now. Hearing you gasp, he turned to face you, a smirk twisting his lips. His eyes were hidden by a pair of shades.

"Glad to see you're up. I was beginning to think my Strider charms had killed ya." he drawled.

You shook your head slowly, eyes never leaving his face. "This... this isn't real. No way..." you muttered.

The smirk slipped from 'Dave's' face and he sighed. He slowly approached you, before pulling you into a hug. You offered little resistance, still frozen in shock.

"Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is real. I was cursed to be a raven because I made a Witch royally fucking pissed at me. The only way to break the curse was to be kissed by someone I loved. And let me tell you, you took your fucking time with that kiss." he explained.

Your eyes widened and your breath caught in your throat. Dave, the raven you had taken in two months ago, was a hot guy that loved you. You had to still be asleep.

"Witches don't exist." you protested weakly. Your mind was still reeling from this.

Dave snorted and released you. "You're gonna piss her off too. It's not a good idea, let me tell you." he said.

You shook your head to clear it. "Well... ok, I'll believe it. But... why fall in love with me?" you asked.

Dave stroked your cheek softly. "Because... you're the only one that could handle the Strider without having your ovaries explode." he teased.

You rolled your eyes and shoved him away playfully. "Gee, thanks." you quipped.

Dave laughed and pulled you into the kitchen. "Come on, I didn't get up at like, three in the morning to make all these god damn pancakes for you to distract me till it got cold." he scolded you.

You slid into a seat at the barstool with a smile. Dave bustled around, preparing you a large stack of pancakes and a glass of apple juice. You laughed at his juice choice.

"Didn't I feed you enough apples when you were a bird?" you asked.

Dave rolled his eyes and messed up your hair. "Apple juice is like, the nectar of the gods. So shut up and drink that shit." he said.

You giggled, but accepted the juice. You played with your pancakes for a minute, carefully avoiding looking at Dave. "So... do you always make breakfast for your girlfriend?" you asked as nonchalantly as you could.

You heard his fork clatter to the ground. Dave was staring at you, wide eyed. You blushed and turned away. Dave chuckled and pulled you close.

"Nah, it's a special thing. Don't get used to it." he breathed, before capturing your lips in a kiss.

You'd just have to tell Beth it won't work out between you and Will.
